Lingua is a software subscription, not a marketplace. italki takes 15-21% of every lesson, Preply takes 18-33%, Cambly pays tutors about 41 cents on the dollar, and Wyzant takes 25%. Koydo charges a flat $19 a month and takes 0% of what your students pay you. A tutor billing $1,000 a month saves $130-$330 by switching off the marketplace tax.

Yes. The same Pro Educator account runs both modalities. Each lesson is tagged in-home or online; the iPad works offline at the kitchen table; the video room launches one tap for online sessions; progress, homework, and parent reporting flow back to the same dashboard.
Koydo Lingua ships a built-in COPPA parental-consent flow inherited from the Koydo Sprouts and Junior age tiers. Every under-13 account requires verified parental consent before any data is stored. Schools get a signed DPA.
Lingua ships 50 languages at native or near-native voice quality. Five additional languages (Swahili, Telugu, Khmer, Nepali, Welsh) ship in a preview tier with a steered voice. Lingoda Teams ships 14 languages. Babbel ships 14. Rosetta Stone Enterprise ships 24.
Schools pay per active seat. $15 per seat per month from 25-99 seats, $11 per seat from 100-499 seats, $8 per seat at 500+ seats. 25-seat floor. Annual billing saves two months. A 50-seat ESL program runs $750 a month; a 500-seat program runs $4,000 a month.
