What deployment actually looks like
From first call to first student-active seat in two weeks.
Here is how a school start works. Week one: the curriculum director and the district IT lead review the terms together, and a data processing agreement is available on request. Lingua's solutions team enables the tenant and pre-loads the cohort with a CSV roster today — the fastest live path. If your district runs Clever, ClassLink, or an LTI 1.3/OneRoster-compatible SIS, tell us from Educator → School → Rostering: those automatic syncs are in active build, not live yet, and we contact districts directly as each one comes online rather than promising a date we can't back.
Week two: instructors land in the teacher dashboard. They pick a CEFR target per cohort (A1, A2, B1, etc.), set the language and the weekly minute commitment, and assign practice and graded assessments. Grades are visible in Koydo's own gradebook, exportable to CSV for any LMS; LTI grade passback is not live. Koydo Lingua currently supports learners 16 and older; under-16 learners cannot be enrolled in Lingua. Students join with a class code or their Koydo sign-in. Minutes of active practice per student per week are visible in the admin dashboard.
Counsel typically asks four questions: where does student data live, who can see it, what happens if we cancel, and who is responsible if something goes wrong. The answers go in the Data Processing Agreement, and a plain-English summary of what data flows today is at /for-schools/data-privacy. A CSV gradebook export is available at any time, so there is no data lock-in.
Schools can assign the included practice tier by cohort and add advanced practice only where it is needed. Current pricing and included features must be checked on the purchasing page before approval.

What does Lingua for Schools include?+
Lingua's classroom tools include rostering, gradebook workflows, and privacy controls; class codes are coming soon. The 50+ language launch path uses separate tutor, pronunciation, and lesson-depth labels, and supported devices can handle some routine practice locally. Schools should use the published availability and pricing shown for their selected language and cohort.
What's the seat count for Pro (A2 and up)?+
5-seat minimum for Pro. A 5-seat Pro deployment is $75 per month or $750 per year. Ask us about a pilot. There's no floor at all for the free classroom tools and the free first unit — that's available to a single class the moment you sign up.
Do you support Clever, ClassLink, or LTI 1.3/OneRoster rostering?+
We're building all three and we'd rather be upfront than oversell a stub: none has a live automatic sync today. CSV cohort import works right now, free, for any number of classes; class codes are coming soon. Request early access to a specific provider from Educator → School → Rostering and we'll contact you as each integration goes live — see the honest per-provider status at /educator/school/rostering.
Will my Canvas / Google Classroom / Schoology gradebook receive grades?+
Grades are visible in Koydo's own gradebook today, with CSV export for any LMS. Native LTI 1.3 grade passback is part of the same rostering build described above — not live yet, but not surcharged when it ships either.
What about student data?+
A data processing agreement is available on request. Koydo Lingua is built for learners 16 and older. What student data Lingua receives is described at /for-schools/data-privacy.
Why does Pro pricing start at $15 if Koydo Lingua Teach Pro is $19?+
Koydo Lingua Teach Pro covers unlimited students for one independent tutor at a $19 flat rate, on top of the same free classroom tools schools get. School Pro pricing is per learner seat and scales differently — at 25 seats, a school pays $375 per month for A2-C1 depth across 25 students. Volume discounts kick in at 100 seats ($11/seat) and again at 500 seats ($8/seat — about half the entry rate). None of this touches the free classroom tools or the free first unit, which cost nothing at any seat count.
What practice tools does each seat include?+
Every seat — free first unit or paid Pro — includes daily practice drills, speaking practice and graded reading. A premium AI add-on is available for Pro seats: +$4/seat at 5-99 seats, +$3 at 100-499, +$2 at 500+. Toggle on or off per academic term.
Can I cancel?+
Month-to-month plans cancel any time. Annual plans cancel at renewal. CSV gradebook export is permanent — no data lock-in.
Do I need to buy seats just to use the classroom tools?+
No. Rostering, cohort CSV import, assignments, gradebook, attendance, and progress reports are free for any number of classes — no seat count, no card. Every enrolled student also gets the free first unit of every language. Pro seats above are only for schools that want A2 through C1 depth for some or all students.
