The challenge
French engineering prépa entrance is brutal. Students need elite-level math + physics + chemistry; the gap between strong lycée students and prépa-ready students is significant. Most accelerators teach the content; few teach the meta-skills (problem decomposition, time management under pressure) that distinguish prépa-ready students.
Why Koydo's cohort tools fit
9-week intensives need tight cohort discipline + per-student tracking. The Koydo gradebook + per-cohort analytics gave the lead teachers real-time visibility into which students were drifting. Three students mid-cohort got 1-on-1 makeup sessions that were the difference between placement and not.
The 47-of-52 result
Best-in-history cohort. Cause: a combination of stronger applicants + the engine-aided early-warning on the 3 drifting students. Two of those three placed into top-tier prépas; the third placed into a strong second-tier. Without the early warning, the program would have lost all three.
What didn't work
The 9-week intensive cadence is brutal on students and tutors. Three of the lead teachers reported burnout by week 7. The accelerator is now running 11-week cycles with two built-in lighter weeks. Worth flagging — even great results have human costs.
