The Spanish-speaking student gap

Florida's commercial driving workforce is increasingly Spanish-first. Most CDL prep materials are English-only or have weak Spanish translations. Orlando CDL Academy had been losing Spanish-speaking students to dropout in their previous English-heavy curriculum.

Koydo's Spanish CDL module

The Koydo CDL module is bilingual by design — Spanish handbook content + bilingual TTS audio + Spanish-language practice tests. Students could study in their first language and take the FL DMV test in either English or Spanish (FL DMV supports both).

Why the pass rate jumped

Students study materials they understand more efficiently. Pre-Koydo, the Spanish-speaking students spent 60% of their prep time looking up English vocabulary, not learning CDL content. Removing that friction cut prep time and lifted pass rates.

The next stretch

The Academy is now adding Haitian Creole as a third language track for 2027 — central Florida's third-largest commercial driving language community. The Koydo content team is building the Haitian Creole handbook translation in parallel.
