LiveKit · WebRTC lesson rooms
3-column lesson room (lesson-plan rail + video grid + chat sidebar) runs on LiveKit's WebRTC infrastructure. browser-side SDK; multi-participant ready for cohort sessions.
Integration shape
Each participant is scoped to a specific room (lesson booking) with role-based permissions (tutor publish + admin; student publish + restricted; parent observe-only when recording-consent active). Recording via LiveKit's egress + upload to Cloudflare R2 via secure upload endpoint.
Value exchange
LiveKit gets: edtech-sector reference customer + structured cohort-room use case. Koydo gets: globally-distributed WebRTC infrastructure (lessons connect via nearest edge), open-source SDK (no vendor lock for browser-side), composable recording infrastructure, multi-participant support for cohort sessions.
Fit note
LiveKit replaces direct browser-WebRTC implementation (which requires running your own TURN servers + dealing with NAT traversal). The cost (managed LiveKit) is far below the cost of building + operating your own real-time stack.
